Best Free AI Video Generators (2026): What the Free Tier Really Gives You

Free AI video generators compared on what the free tier really gives (credits, watermark, resolution, daily limits) and what a second of video costs once you pay: ZSky AI, PixVerse, Magic Hour, Kling, YouArt, Carat, Medeo and Voxmin. Checked November 3, 2026.

Best Free AI Video Generators (2026): What the Free Tier Really Gives You

TL;DR / Key Takeaways

  • ZSky AI is the only tool here with unlimited free generation: 5-second HD clips with a watermark, deleted after 7 days.
  • PixVerse gives 30 free credits a day; a new account's 60 credits bought one 6-second 720p clip in Stork's test.
  • Magic Hour's free video is 480p, watermarked and non-commercial; a $10 pack that never expires removes all three.
  • Paid AI video ranges from about $0.02 a second (YouArt yearly) to over $0.46 (Seedance 2 on GoStudio.ai).
  • Check commercial rights: ZSky allows them on free, Magic Hour and Kling do not.

Short answer: the best free AI video generators in 2026 are ZSky AI if you want unlimited free clips and can live with a watermark, PixVerse for a daily allowance of credits on its own fast model, Magic Hour for the biggest sign-up bonus and a menu of 16 models, and Kling if you want to try a top-tier model before paying. Once you pay, YouArt is the cheapest per second we found, at about $0.02 to $0.024 a second of video. Every free tier here watermarks or limits its output. Updated November 3, 2026.

How we checked: plans, free allowances and prices come from each vendor's own pricing, help and API pages, read November 3, 2026 (ZSky AI, Kling and PixVerse on November 2, 2026). We did not render the same prompt in each tool, so this guide compares free tiers, plans and prices, not output quality. The one exception is PixVerse, which Stork ran in a separate hands-on test of six free plans on October 31, 2026. Dollar-per-second figures are our arithmetic on each vendor's own plan numbers. Prices are in US dollars unless stated.

Demand is rising: "free ai video generator" gets about 90,500 US Google searches a month, and July to September 2026 ran 31% above April to June (Google Ads data, which ends in September). Stork's own pull of estimated Google search traffic from DataForSEO (November 2, 2026; an estimate of search visits, not users) shows Kling up from about 1.45 million a month in July to about 2.27 million in October, Carat from about 44,000 to about 212,000 and ZSky AI from about 3,100 to about 15,000.

What a dollar of AI video costs: the per-second ladder

Every tool sells credits, and a credit means something different on each site, so the only fair comparison is dollars per second of finished video. The figures below use each vendor's own plan numbers. They are not like-for-like: the model, resolution and audio behind each figure differ, and vendors rarely say which model a "seconds of video" estimate assumes.

Tool and planAbout $ per secondBasis
YouArt Max, billed yearly$0.020$119.99/mo for about 6,000 s (vendor estimate)
YouArt Basic, billed yearly$0.024$7.99/mo for about 332 s
Magic Hour Creator, yearly$0.024$144/yr for about 6,120 s (vendor's hour figures)
ZSky AI Max API$0.033$99/mo for 3,000 video-seconds
PixVerse API, V6 720p no audio$0.0445 API credits for 5 s, 225 credits per $1
Magic Hour $10 pack$0.064,000 credits, about 168 s, never expire

Medeo Pro, Kling V3 1080p$0.173.13 credits/s at about 5.6 cents a credit
Carat Starter, Veo 3.1 Fast$0.21$20 for 12 clips of 8 s
GoStudio.ai, Seedance 2 at 720p$0.46 to $0.7360 credits per 5 s clip, Max to Lite plan
Our arithmetic on vendor figures read November 2-3, 2026.

The spread is about 35 times from top to bottom. The cheap end is yearly plans and in-house or open models; the expensive end is frontier models such as Veo and Seedance bought in small amounts. For a few clips, a pack that never expires (Magic Hour, ImageGPT) beats a subscription that resets monthly.

1. ZSky AI: unlimited free clips, with a watermark

ZSky AI is the only tool here with no credits at all. Its pricing page says every tier, Free included, has unlimited image and video generation with no daily caps. The free catch: a shared queue, HD video up to 5 seconds with audio, images up to 720p, a small "MADE WITH / zsky.ai" mark on every output, and creations deleted from your gallery after 7 days. Unusually, ZSky says commercial use is allowed on Free. Pro is $19 a month ($182.40 a year) for 1080p, 10-second clips, instant generation and no mark. Download anything you want to keep within a week.

2. PixVerse: a daily allowance on a fast in-house model

PixVerse's free Basic plan gives 60 credits at sign-up and 30 credits a day that expire at midnight UTC. In Stork's October 31 test, its web app charged 10 credits a second at 720p with sound, so a new account's 60 credits bought one 6-second clip, with a PixVerse watermark. Standard is $10 a month ($8 billed yearly) for 1,200 credits and lists watermark-free output up to 720p. Developers can skip the web plans: the V6 API costs about $0.20 for a 5-second 720p clip without audio. On Trustpilot it scores 2.2 out of 5, mostly over credits lost on failed generations.

3. Magic Hour: the biggest sign-up bonus and 16 models

Magic Hour bundles 100+ tools, from face swap to talking photos, with a video generator that offers 16 models including Kling 4.0, Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.5 and Wan. A free account gets 400 sign-up credits and can claim 100 a day up to 7 times, and the video page offers 3 free 3-second generations a day without an account. Free video exports are 480p with a watermark and for personal, non-commercial use only. The cheapest way out is a one-time pack: $10 buys 4,000 credits (about 168 seconds by Magic Hour's own conversion), never expires and is watermark-free with commercial use. Creator is $19 a month or $144 a year.

4. Kling: try a top-tier model for free

Kling sells its own model directly, and Kling 4.0 now makes takes up to 30 seconds. The free Basic plan gives monthly credits on login, valid 31 days, but Kling does not state the amount, and Basic lists no watermark removal, no 1080p or 4K and no commercial use. Standard is $10 list, $8.80 a month (660 credits), with a 30%-off first month. Kling does not publish what a 4.0 generation costs in credits; its API does: 1 unit a second at 720p, about $0.77 for a 5-second clip on the $500 package. Trustpilot shows 1.2 out of 5 from 433 reviews; test a paid month before a year.

5. YouArt: the cheapest seconds once you pay

YouArt is a workflow builder: you describe the job in chat, an agent proposes a chain of nodes, and you adjust it. Its free plan gives trial credits and a Free Mode that runs the Nano Banana image models at zero credits in a queue of about ten minutes, so free here means images, not video, and output may carry a small watermark. Paying is cheap: Basic is $7.99 a month billed yearly for about 332 seconds of video, roughly $0.024 a second, and Max works out to about $0.02. The catch is that no monthly price is shown, only yearly prices against a crossed-out list price.

6. Carat: daily credits and a huge model list

Carat is a chat agent over 100+ image, video and audio models, from Veo and Kling to Sora 2 and Runway. The free tier gives free credits daily, but Carat does not publish the amount. Its pricing page is unusually concrete about what paid credits buy: Starter at $20 a month (10,000 credits) covers, for example, 12 Veo 3.1 Fast clips of 8 seconds (about $0.21 a second) or 178 Minimax 02 Fast clips of 6 seconds. Carat says its unlimited image perks are a promotion that can change. Its estimated Google search traffic grew about fivefold from July to October 2026.

7. Medeo: chat-to-video with a real timeline

Medeo turns a chat brief into a finished video with voiceover, music and captions, and lets you fix it in a timeline editor. The free plan includes chat creation, the editor and 1 GB of storage; exports are watermarked, premium models are locked and the free credit amount is not stated. Medeo is the rare tool that publishes per-second rates per model: Kling V3 at 1080p costs 3.13 credits a second, about $0.17 on Pro ($39 a month for 700 credits). Stock-footage videos stretch credits about ten times further than fully generated ones, per Medeo's own estimates.

8. Voxmin: a free editor, AI by the second

Voxmin is the pick if you mostly edit and only sometimes generate. Its Flo timeline editor and export are free on web, desktop and Android. AI video costs 2 to 5 credits a second (480p or 720p), bought in packs that never expire: Rs 500 for 430 credits, or Rs 900 for 1,000, shown in local currency. A minute at the cheapest rate is 120 credits, about Rs 108 to Rs 140. Its pricing page shows two conflicting per-second tables, so check the cost shown before each run.

Free in name only: tools to pay for or skip

  • GoStudio.ai gives eligible new accounts 10 free credits, but a 5-second Seedance 2 clip costs 60, so the free credits do not buy a single video.
  • ImageGPT states no free credit amount; packs start at $5.99 for 25 credits (about one video), never expire and are only charged when a generation succeeds.
  • Loova offers a free sign-up but lists no free credits on its pricing page; its draw is unlimited use of certain models on plans from $49 a month.
  • Pexo gives new users starter credits (amount not stated); paid plans start at $30 a month for about 2 to 5 minutes of video, and all payments are non-refundable.
  • VidRush has no free plan or trial; it makes long narrated YouTube videos from sourced footage from $99 a month, about $2.20 a finished minute.

How to choose a free AI video generator

  • You want to make a lot of short clips for fun: ZSky AI. Nothing is metered; accept the watermark and the 7-day gallery.
  • You want a few clips a day without paying: PixVerse, and spend the daily credits before midnight UTC.
  • You want to compare models before committing: Magic Hour's sign-up credits, then a $10 pack if you like one.
  • You need the output for a client or an ad: check commercial rights first. Magic Hour and Kling free output is not cleared for commercial use; ZSky's is.
  • You will pay anyway and care about cost per second: YouArt yearly, or an API (PixVerse, Kling) if you can code.
  • You want a finished video with voice and captions, not a clip: Medeo or Carat. For still images, see our best AI image generators guide.

Before paying for a year, run one paid month and note what each clip really costs: several vendors do not publish per-generation costs, and credits burned on failed generations are the most common review complaint.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free AI video generator?

ZSky AI for unlimited free clips (5-second HD with a watermark), PixVerse for a daily allowance of 30 credits, Magic Hour for the largest sign-up bonus (400 credits plus 100 a day for up to 7 days) and Kling to try a top-tier model on free monthly credits. Checked November 2-3, 2026.

Is there a free AI video generator with no watermark?

Not a usable one among the tools we checked. ZSky, Magic Hour, PixVerse and Medeo watermark free video, and Kling reserves watermark removal for paid plans. GoStudio.ai output has no watermark, but its 10 free credits do not cover a single video. The cheapest watermark-free routes are a one-time $10 Magic Hour pack or PixVerse Standard at $10 a month.

Is there an unlimited free AI video generator?

ZSky AI says its free tier has unlimited image and video generation with no credits or daily caps. Free clips are up to 5 seconds, carry a small zsky.ai mark, run on a shared queue and are deleted from your gallery after 7 days.

Can I use free AI videos commercially?

It depends on the tool. ZSky AI allows commercial use on its free plan. Magic Hour's free output is for personal, non-commercial use only, and Kling's free Basic plan does not include commercial use. Read the terms before using free output in an ad.

How much does AI video cost per second?

From the vendors' own plan figures, about $0.02 to $0.024 a second on YouArt's yearly plans, about $0.06 on a Magic Hour $10 pack, about $0.15 on the Kling 4.0 API at 720p and about $0.21 for Veo 3.1 Fast on Carat Starter. The model, resolution and audio behind each figure differ.

How long a video can I make for free?

Usually a few seconds. ZSky's free clips are up to 5 seconds, Magic Hour's no-account generations are 3 seconds, and a new PixVerse account's 60 credits bought a 6-second clip at 720p with sound in Stork's October 31, 2026 test.
