overview

What Carat does

Carat is a creative AI app where you type what you want and an agent picks tools and models to make images, videos, songs, voice and lip-sync clips. Besides chat it has a Library, a model picker, generators, an Agent Canvas, Mini Apps, a Game Studio and a prompt gallery with 5,000+ prompts. The subscription page lists video models including Google Veo 3.1, Kling V3 and O3, Seedance 1.0 to 2.0, Sora 2, Minimax/Hailuo 2.3, Runway Gen4, Luma Ray 2, Vidu Q2, PixVerse V5.5, Wan 2.6, Grok Imagine and HeyGen Avatar 4, plus its own Carat Video Generation. Image models include Nano Banana, ChatGPT Image 2.5, Seedream 5.0, Flux 2, Imagen 4, Ideogram V3, Recraft, Stable Diffusion 3.5 and Midjourney V7.

Carat runs in the browser at carat.im and as an iOS and Android app, with the interface in 11 languages. It is made by Paradot Inc. of Seoul, according to the site footer. Paid plans add MCP and connectors so other tools can call Carat. Every model except the unlimited ones draws from one credit balance, and the pricing page converts each plan's credits into a count of generations per model.

Credits cost about $2 per 1,000 at monthly prices on every plan ($20 / 10,000; $99 / 50,000 = $1.98). Carat's own usage table turns Starter's 10,000 monthly credits into, for example, 12 Google Veo 3.1 Fast clips of 8 seconds (96 seconds, so roughly $0.21 per second at $20), 11 Seedance 2.0 clips of 5 seconds (55 seconds), 7 Kling V3 4K clips of 5 seconds (35 seconds), 5 Veo 3.1 clips of 8 seconds (40 seconds) or 178 Minimax 02 Fast clips of 6 seconds (about 18 minutes). Yearly billing saves 20% to 34%; the yearly total is not printed (Starter works out to $16 x 12 = $192).

Carat says unlimited benefits are a promotion that may change, apply only while subscribed and fall under a fair-use policy. Extra credits are valid for 1 month and unused credits do not carry over. Web refunds: full refund within 7 days if unused, a 10% fee after 7 days, no refund on a used monthly plan; app-store purchases follow Apple or Google. Commercial use of outputs is listed on all paid plans.

best for

Who Carat is best for

Carat suits creators who want to try many image and video models without paying for each vendor, and who like a usage table that says how many clips a plan buys. The unlimited image tier makes it good value if you generate lots of stills.

It is a model hub with a chat layer, not a long-form video producer. For a finished multi-scene video from one brief, look at Pexo or Medeo; for narrated YouTube videos of 6 to 60 minutes, VidRush.

what users say

What users say

Independent reviews are thin. The US App Store listing shows 4.8 out of 5 from 659 ratings; reviewers there call the app user-friendly and like having several engines in one place. Complaints on the same page include a layout change that moved premade photo templates and one reviewer saying portrait results lighten darker skin. Capterra and GetApp list Carat but showed no user reviews when checked.
