overview

What reap does

reap is a browser-based video tool that finds the strongest moments in a long video and turns them into short vertical clips with animated captions and auto-reframing. You can let it pick the moments, tell it what topics to look for, or choose them yourself in a text-based editor where editing the transcript edits the video. It also adds AI B-roll from stock footage, brand templates, subtitle translation in 100+ languages and AI voice dubbing in 80+ languages, including romanized subtitle output such as Hinglish, Romanized Urdu and Arabizi.

You upload a file or import from YouTube, Twitch, X or Vimeo; reap says a 60-minute video typically takes 5 to 10 minutes to process, and usage counts the length of the source video regardless of how many clips you make. Finished clips can be scheduled to TikTok, Reels, Shorts and LinkedIn, plus X and Facebook on Studio. The same steps are exposed through a REST API, a CLI and an MCP server, with webhooks, so agents and tools such as n8n, Zapier and Make can run them. The homepage shows NVIDIA, OpenAI and Gemini under "Powered by" without naming models.

best for

Who reap is best for

reap suits podcasters, coaches, churches and agencies who turn talking-head recordings into clips every week, and developers or agencies who want to automate clipping and dubbing through an API or an AI agent without an enterprise contract. Creators publishing to South Asian or Arabic-speaking audiences get romanized caption output that few clippers offer.

The Free plan watermarks exports, so it is a trial rather than a working tier; WayinVideo exports without a watermark on Free. If dubbing quality is the main job, a dedicated tool such as ElevenLabs or VMEG gives more voice control, and reap's own voice cloning is not available yet.

what users say

What users say

On AppSumo, where reap sold a lifetime deal, it is rated 4.4 out of 5 from 77 reviews. Reviewers praise the time saved, quick replies from support and the API and MCP connections; one called them among the best in the space. Complaints include clip start and end points that need adjusting, the AI voice mispronouncing words in dubs, calendar bugs and, in August 2026, missing Facebook posting (Studio now lists Facebook). reap's Product Hunt page shows 5.0 from only 2 reviews, both about a year old.
