Stork's verdict on Appy.AI

Appy.AI is a cheap way for Slack or Teams teams to try AI coworkers that take real actions, though credit costs per task are hard to predict.

overview

What Appy.AI does

Appy.AI (not the Appy Pie app builder) runs a team of AI agents where your team already chats. You message Violet, whom Appy calls your Director of AI, with a goal in plain English; she proposes a plan for you to review, then delegates to specialists such as a Financial Analyst, Bookkeeper, Payroll, Market Strategist, Social Media, Content Strategist, Executive Assistant, Customer Support, Business Ops, Business Development, Account Executive and Competitive Research agent. If no specialist fits, you describe a role and Violet creates one.

Setup means signing up at appy.ai, picking a channel and connecting your tools; Appy says it takes under 30 minutes and needs no developer. Slack and Microsoft Teams are the main channels, and Appy's site also has pages for iMessage, Telegram and email. Agents connect to what Appy describes as over 900 applications, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Jira, Shopify, Zoom, QuickBooks, Stripe, Gusto, Google Ads, Mailchimp and Meta Ads. Scheduled tasks let agents run recurring work, and a web dashboard tracks tasks, owners, history and credit usage.

PlanPriceIncluded
StarterFree$100 in free credits, unlimited users, shared workspace credits, no support, no renewal
AI Workforce$50/mo20,000 credits a month, unlimited users, shared workspace credits, native Slack and Microsoft Teams agents, persistent workspace context, priority support, advanced analytics

Credits are used when coworkers complete tasks such as drafting content, triaging email or building reports. Appy does not publish how many credits a typical task uses, so the cost per task cannot be worked out; $50 for 20,000 credits is $0.0025 per credit. Unused credits roll over, extra credits can be bought at any time (price not published), and there is no long-term contract: you can cancel and keep your coworkers until the end of the billing period. The Starter credits do not renew, so the free plan is a one-off trial. No annual price is listed.

best for

Who Appy.AI is best for

Appy.AI suits small teams and founders who live in Slack or Teams and want to hand off routine finance, marketing, sales and ops work without building workflows. Flat pricing with unlimited users makes it cheap to give the whole team access.

Look elsewhere if your organisation needs formal approval chains and procurement controls, or if you want to design every step yourself: Lindy and Relevance AI give more control over agent logic, and Sintra AI offers a similar cast of named AI helpers in its own app rather than in Slack.

what users say

What users say

Independent reviews are few. Dupple's review, which discloses affiliate links, sees it as a fit for small teams already in Slack or Teams and calls it "less obviously aimed at large enterprises with strict procurement rules"; it also notes that agents need access to tools such as your CRM and accounting software. Toolradar, an editorial listing with no user reviews, calls it good value and flags that credit-based pricing can be hard to predict for heavy use and that free users get no support. Neither shows a user rating, and no user reviews were visible on the G2 page in search results.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Appy.AI cost?

Appy.AI has a free Starter plan with $100 in one-time credits, and the AI Workforce plan at $50/month with 20,000 credits a month, unlimited users, priority support and native Slack and Teams agents. See appy.ai/pricing.

Is Appy.AI free?

You can start free with $100 in credits and no credit card. The Starter credits do not renew and the plan has no support, so it works as a trial; ongoing use needs the $50/month plan.

Is Appy.AI the same as Appy Pie?

No. Appy.AI at appy.ai sells AI coworkers that work in Slack and Microsoft Teams. Appy Pie is a separate no-code app and website builder.

How do Appy.AI credits work?

Credits are used when coworkers complete tasks. Unused credits roll over, you can buy more at any time and track usage in the dashboard. Appy does not publish credits per task or the price of extra credits.

Does Appy.AI work in Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Appy.AI runs in both Slack and Microsoft Teams, and once installed it is available to everyone in your organisation. Its site also lists iMessage, Telegram and email as channels.

How is Appy.AI different from ChatGPT or Claude?

Appy says ChatGPT and Claude are general assistants you prompt, while Appy deploys named specialists with persistent context and defined roles that take actions in your connected tools and work in Slack and Teams.
