Yuna vs Mozart (2026): Two Apps That Keep Your Face, Two Ways to Pay

TL;DR / Key Takeaways

  • Yuna and Mozart had the best likeness of five apps tested with the same photo.
  • Mozart: $4.99 one-time for 20 s, but download needs PRO; about $10.98 to keep it.
  • Yuna: $6.99 weekly for two 30 s HD clips, downloadable, no watermark.

Short answer: Yuna and Mozart held the face from our photo better than the other apps we tested, so the choice comes down to how you pay. Yuna charged $6.99 for a weekly plan and gave us a 30-second HD clip we could download. Mozart charged $4.99 once for a 20-second clip, then asked for a PRO subscription (from $5.99 a week) to download it. For one video you can keep, Yuna was cheaper; for watching a clip in the app, Mozart was. Tested October 16, 2026.

How we tested: on October 16, 2026 we installed each app from Google Play (US) on a Pixel 6 Pro and tried to make the same thing in each: a music video for the brief "a happy birthday song for my wife Anna", starring the same photo (an AI-generated portrait, not a real person). Apps that only animate a song you upload got the same finished track. We paid with our own money for Sondo, Yuna and Mozart. We did not buy a One More Shot video: we went through its free steps and recorded its prices. StarSinger's clip and full video were made the same day through the app's normal purchase flow; for StarSinger we report its listed one-time prices. Prices are what the apps showed us that day, before tax, and change often.

Price: one-time is not always cheaper

Mozart's $4.99 looks like the cheapest way into this category, and it was the smallest charge in our test. But the clip could not be saved without PRO, so a keepable first video was $10.98 at the cheapest plan, against Yuna's $6.99. Yuna's plan also renews every week, so it only stays cheaper if you cancel. Details: Yuna review, Mozart AI music video review.

Output: close on likeness, Yuna does more

On the face alone the two are close. Yuna kept the scarf and jacket from the photo and cut five scenes to the song; Mozart put the same face in a single street scene in a different jacket. For a 20-second social clip either works. For something that feels like a music video, Yuna's multi-scene cut is ahead.

Verdict

  • Choose Yuna for a downloadable HD clip with several scenes, and set a reminder to cancel the weekly plan.
  • Choose Mozart if you only want to watch or screen-record a short clip, or you already pay for Mozart PRO for its songs.
  • Neither writes a song from your words in the flow we tested. For that, see Sondo vs Yuna or the StarSinger notes in What Your First AI Music Video Actually Costs.
