TL;DR / Key Takeaways
- Tied best accuracy on the first 5.5 minutes: 12.8% WER.
- Transcribed in under a minute.
- Free plan returned only 5:35 of our 10-minute file.
- AI summary panel showed sample data, not our meeting.
Verdict: Transkriptor was fast (under a minute) and tied for the best accuracy over the part of our file it transcribed: 12.8% word error rate over the first 5.5 minutes in our four-tool accuracy test. But the free plan returned only the first 5:35 of our 10-minute meeting, and its AI summary panel showed sample data that had nothing to do with our recording. Tested October 31, 2026.
How we tested: on October 31, 2026 we took the first 10 minutes of a real recorded meeting from the AMI Meeting Corpus (meeting ES2004a, University of Edinburgh, licensed CC BY 4.0): four people with British and European accents, often talking over each other. We uploaded the same MP3 to each tool on a new free account with default settings and English selected. We then scored each transcript against the corpus's human transcript using word error rate (WER): the share of words a tool got wrong, dropped or added. Before scoring we lowercased both sides, removed punctuation and filler words such as "um", and spelled out numbers, so "25" and "twenty five" count as the same. Lower is better. This is one recording, so treat differences of a point or two as a tie.
Transkriptor at a glance
| What we checked | Result |

| WER, first 5.5 minutes | 12.8% (tied best) |
| Length returned on free | 5:35 of 10:00 |
| Speakers | 4 labelled |

| AI summary on free | A locked sample, not our meeting |
| Pro | $19.99 a month, or $8.33 a month billed yearly; 2,400 min a month |
Accuracy
Over the first 5.5 minutes, Transkriptor scored 12.8%, the same as HappyScribe. Its text there was almost word for word the same as HyNote's, including the same mistakes, which suggests both may use the same speech engine. We could not score the full 10 minutes because the rest was locked.
The 5:35 cutoff
Transkriptor's pricing page mentions a free plan of 90 minutes. On our new account, the first file we uploaded was shown as 5:35 long, and the transcript ended mid-sentence at "Second, it's loyal." with an "Unlock Full Transcription" banner. The summary and talk-time panels showed a sample "Q1 Sales Meeting Summary" with made-up names, behind upgrade buttons, not anything from our file.
Pricing
Lite is $9.99 a month for 300 minutes. Pro is $19.99 a month, or $8.33 a month billed yearly ($99.99), for 2,400 minutes a month, which is the most minutes per dollar among the plans we compared.

Who Transkriptor is for
- Good fit: high volume. If you transcribe hours of files, Pro's 2,400 minutes for $8.33 a month billed yearly is hard to beat.
- Less good: judging it on the free plan. You will see only part of your file; HyNote or HappyScribe will show the whole thing.
