TL;DR / Key Takeaways
- Free account: 60 credits, then 30 a day that expire.
- 720p with sound costs 10 credits a second.
- Our brief became a 6-second clip with all four scenes.
- End line spelled exactly right; watermark top right.
- Standard is $8 a month billed yearly for 1,200 credits.
Verdict: PixVerse was the only tool in our six-tool test besides Synthesia to show every scene we asked for on a free account: roaster, latte pour, cafe and the exact end line. The catch is length. A new account's 60 credits buy 6 seconds at 720p with sound, so the 15-second brief became a 6-second teaser with four quick cuts. Tested October 31, 2026.
How we tested: on October 31, 2026 we gave each tool the same brief on a new free account, in Chrome: "A 15-second promo video for Ember & Oak, a small-batch coffee roaster in Portland, Oregon. Show coffee beans tumbling in a roaster, a barista pouring latte art, and morning light in a cozy cafe. End with the words "Ember & Oak - Roasted slow." Warm, cinematic look." We used each tool's main text-to-video entry point, accepted its suggested defaults, and timed it from submit to a playable video. We did not pay for any plan. Ember & Oak is a made-up business.

What the free credits buy
PixVerse shows the price on the Create button before you spend anything, which makes the math easy. At 720p with sound it charges 10 credits a second: 50 for 5 seconds, 60 for 6, 150 for 15. Turning sound off brings 15 seconds down to 120, and dropping to 360p brings it to 75. All of these are more than the 60 credits a new account gets, so we kept 720p and sound and asked for 6 seconds.
After the first clip, the free plan adds 30 credits a day. They expire at midnight UTC if unused, so you cannot save them up: on a free account, each later day is good for about 3 seconds at 720p with sound.
The result, shot by shot
With Multi-Shot on, PixVerse cut the clip into four shots, at about 2, 4 and 5 seconds. The roaster looks like a real small drum roaster and the latte pour is convincing. The cafe is warm and believable apart from the window lettering, which is the usual AI gibberish. Every shot is short, so it plays as a fast teaser. The end card got our text exactly right, which VEED did not.
The file also carries generated audio; we did not judge the sound. The page warned "The system is operating at full capacity" while it worked, and the clip was ready within a few minutes.

Who PixVerse is for
- Good fit: short social clips and teasers, and anyone who wants to try AI video free before paying; the cost is clear before you press Create.
- Less good: a full 15-second promo on a free account; the credits stop at 6 seconds. Synthesia made 16 seconds free in our test.
- Compare: VEED is better for a person talking to camera; InVideo wrote a better script but would not render it for free.
