TL;DR / Key Takeaways
- Entry plans cost $29 to $69 a month, but cost per found email ranges from about 1.7 cents (Hunter yearly) to 69 cents (RocketReach monthly).
- Most tools now charge only when an email is found or verified, so a miss costs nothing on Hunter, Apollo, Prospeo, Anymailfinder, Findymail and Dropcontact.
- Phone numbers cost 5 to 10 credits each on Lusha, Apollo, Prospeo and Findymail; Hunter's plans list email only.
- Pick by workflow: domain lookups (Hunter), database plus sequences (Apollo, Snov.io), your own lists (Anymailfinder, Dropcontact), LinkedIn and phones (Kaspr, Lusha).
Short answer: the best email finder depends on how you start. If you know the person and the company, Hunter is the simplest and one of the cheapest per found email. If you need to build the list too, Prospeo and Apollo.io combine a database with a pay-on-verified finder. If you also want to send cold email from the same bill, Snov.io is the best value suite, and for LinkedIn prospecting with phone numbers, Lusha or Kaspr.
How we checked: we read each vendor's own pricing page, credit rules and help center, then worked out what one found email costs on the cheapest paid plan, monthly and yearly. We did not run our own accuracy test; user opinions below are attributed to the review site they come from. Prices checked on each vendor's own pricing page on November 1, 2026. Some links are affiliate links: if you sign up, the vendor may pay us a commission at no cost to you. It never changes our picks.

Hunter: best for quick lookups by domain
Hunter finds the most likely address from a full name and company domain, lists the addresses it knows for a domain, and verifies any email for half a credit. It shows the public sources where an address was found, and no credit is used when nothing is found. Free gives 50 credits a month; Starter is $49 a month for 2,000 credits, or $34 a month billed yearly. Growth ($149, 10,000 credits) brings the cost to about 1.5 cents per email, and team members are unlimited on every plan.
Pick it if you already know who you want and need a verified address fast, or want cheap verification before a send. Skip it if you need phone numbers (Hunter's plans list email finding and verification only) or want to work inside LinkedIn, which Hunter's help center says it does not support.
Snov.io: best value finder plus outreach suite
Snov.io finds emails by name, domain or its own prospect database, runs a 7-tier verifier, and adds warm-up, email and LinkedIn sequences and a basic CRM. One credit covers a found email or a verification. Starter is $39 a month for 1,000 credits; Pro S is $99 for 5,000 (about 2 cents each), and the per-credit price falls to about 0.74 cents on Pro L. Seats are unlimited on paid plans and unused credits roll over with auto-renewal on.
Pick Snov.io if you want finding, verifying and sending on one bill for a small team. Skip it if phones are your main need (they cost separate enrichment tokens) or you only need lookups. LinkedIn automation is an extra $69 per account slot per month.
Apollo.io: best all-in-one database
Apollo is a B2B database with filters for title, industry, size and intent, plus sequences, a US dialer and CRM sync. Apollo says it only charges credits for emails it can verify. Free has 75 credits a month; Basic is $65 per seat monthly or $49 billed yearly for 2,500 credits a month. An email is 1 credit and a phone number 8, so a phone on Basic monthly costs about 20.8 cents. Credits expire every cycle.
Pick it if you want to search, reveal and sequence in one seat. Skip it if you only need to append emails to a list you already have. Reviewers on G2 and TrustRadius most often raise data accuracy and credits running out on phone exports.
Prospeo: best pay-per-valid-result database
Prospeo combines a people and company database (28 to 41 filters by plan) with an email and mobile finder, a Chrome extension on every plan, CSV and API enrichment. It charges only when it returns a valid result, and re-enriching the same lead within 90 days is free. Free is 100 credits a month, the largest free allowance here. Starter is $49 per user monthly for 2,000 credits, or $441 a year. Mobile numbers cost 10 credits.
Pick it if you already have a sequencer and want a database that does not bill for misses. Skip it if you want sending built in; Prospeo does not send email.
Anymailfinder: best for your own lists
Anymailfinder takes a name and company, domain or LinkedIn URL and verifies each result live against the mail server, including catch-all domains. A credit is spent only on a verified email, a company search returns up to 20 emails for 1 credit, and credits roll over with no cap while you stay subscribed. Plans start at $29 for 400 credits; $299 buys 25,000 (about 1.2 cents each). The 100-credit trial needs a card.
Pick it if you have lists from a CRM or LinkedIn and want verified emails appended with nothing charged for misses. Skip it if you need a searchable database, phone numbers or sequences.
Findymail: best for deliverability
Findymail finds and verifies each email live, including catch-all domains, and guarantees a bounce rate under 5% or refunds credits. It also finds phone numbers for non-EU contacts at 10 credits. Its main plans are usage-based from $99 a month without a published credit count; the credit-based plans start at $49 a month for 1,000 finder plus 1,000 verifier credits, though Findymail positions those for reselling or embedding its data. Sign-up includes 10 free credits.
Pick it if bounces are your main risk and you send through Instantly, Smartlead or Lemlist, which it connects to natively. Skip it if your volume is light or you need EU phone numbers.
Lusha: best for phone numbers
Lusha is a contact database you reveal through a Chrome extension on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator, the web app, the API or an MCP server. Searching is free; an email reveal costs 1 credit and a phone number 5. Free gives 40 credits a month; Starter is $49.90 a month for 400 credits, about 12.5 cents per email and 62 cents per phone. Monthly plans roll over credits up to twice the allowance.
Pick Lusha if your reps call prospects and need direct dials as well as emails. Skip it if you mostly need emails at volume: per email it costs several times more than Hunter or Snov.io.

Dropcontact: best for EU enrichment
Dropcontact is a French service that builds and verifies work emails with its own algorithms; it says it does not use a contact database and processes data on EU servers. You supply names and companies by file, Google Sheets or API, and pay only on success. Starter is 29 EUR a month for 500 credits and 79 EUR for 4,000 (about 2 euro cents each). A separate CRM suite for HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce is priced on request.
Pick it if you are an EU team enriching files or a CRM and care about how data is sourced. Skip it if you need to discover new people: it only works on names you provide.
RocketReach: best for looking up specific people
RocketReach searches 700 million profiles (its figure) and returns verified work and personal emails, plus phones on Pro and above. Failed lookups are refunded. Monthly Essentials is $69 for 100 lookups (69 cents each); annual Essentials is $399 a year with unlimited lookups but 1,200 exports, about 33 cents per export. Phones need Pro at $899 a year.
Pick it if you are a recruiter or PR person who needs a handful of named contacts, including personal emails. Skip it if you need bulk emails cheaply; it is the most expensive per contact here.
Kaspr: best inside LinkedIn
Kaspr adds a panel to LinkedIn profiles (and Sales Navigator from Starter, Recruiter Lite on Business) that reveals business email, direct email and phone. Paid plans make B2B emails unlimited under a fair use policy, so you are really buying phone credits: Starter is $49 per user a month billed yearly with 1,200 phone credits a year, about 49 cents each. Free gives 15 B2B email, 5 phone and 5 direct email credits a month. Sign-up needs a business email and a LinkedIn account with 20 or more connections.
Pick it if you prospect profile by profile on LinkedIn and want phone numbers. Skip it if you need a database outside LinkedIn or built-in sequences.
How to choose an email finder
- You know the person and company: Hunter, or Anymailfinder for bulk lists. Both cost nothing on a miss.
- You need to build the list: Prospeo if you have a sender, Apollo if you want sequences and a dialer in the same seat.
- You want to send from the same tool: Snov.io or Apollo, or pair a finder with a dedicated sender such as Instantly.
- You make calls: Lusha or Kaspr from LinkedIn; budget 5 credits (Lusha) or a phone credit (Kaspr) per number.
- You are an EU team: Dropcontact for enrichment without a stored contact database.
- Bounces have hurt you before: Findymail's under-5% guarantee or Anymailfinder's bounce credit-back.
Whatever you pick, run the free plan on 50 to 100 contacts from your own market first. Coverage varies by country and company size, and reviewers on every tool here report misses at smaller or newer companies. Then compare cost per found email, not plan price: a $29 plan that finds 400 emails costs more per address than a $49 plan that finds 2,000.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best email finder in 2026?
There is no single winner. Hunter is the simplest pick for finding an address from a name and company domain, Prospeo and Apollo are better when you need a database to build the list, and Snov.io suits small teams that also want to send sequences. For phone numbers, look at Lusha or Kaspr.
Which email finder is cheapest per email?
At entry level on yearly billing, Hunter Starter works out to about 1.7 cents per found email ($408 for 24,000 credits), Prospeo Starter about 1.84 cents and Apollo Basic about 1.96 cents. At higher volumes Snov.io Pro L and Ultra drop to about 0.74 cents per credit and Anymailfinder's 100,000-credit plan to 0.8 cents.
Do email finders charge when no email is found?
Most of the tools here do not. Hunter, Apollo, Prospeo, Anymailfinder, Findymail and Dropcontact all state that a credit is used only for a found or verified result, and RocketReach refunds failed lookups. Lusha charges per reveal, and Snov.io charges when you save a prospect.
Is there a free email finder that is any good?
Several have permanent free plans: Prospeo 100 credits a month, Apollo 75, Hunter 50, Snov.io 50 and Lusha 40. That is enough to test data quality on your own market, not to run outbound.
Which email finder also finds phone numbers?
Lusha (5 credits per phone), Apollo (8 credits), Prospeo and Findymail (10 credits each, Findymail outside the EU only), Kaspr (separate phone credits) and RocketReach on Pro and above. Hunter, Anymailfinder and Dropcontact's Email Finder are email-focused.
How accurate are email finders?
Vendors publish their own accuracy figures, which we do not repeat as fact. Reviewers on G2, Capterra and TrustRadius report bounces and stale data on almost every tool, so verify before a large send. Findymail guarantees a bounce rate under 5% or refunds credits, and Anymailfinder credits back verified emails that bounce after review.
