Hunter.io Alternatives in 2026: 8 Email Finders Compared on Cost per Email

TL;DR / Key Takeaways

  • Hunter's email finder is cheap per email (about 2.5 cents on Starter, 1.7 cents yearly), so most alternatives win on features, not price.
  • People look elsewhere for phone numbers (Hunter's plans list email only), LinkedIn support (Hunter says it cannot integrate with LinkedIn) and credits that roll over.
  • Closest like-for-like: Prospeo (2.45 cents, 100 free credits a month, phones) and Apollo (2.6 cents, database plus dialer).
  • Best for phones: Lusha (5 credits a phone) and Kaspr (unlimited B2B emails under fair use plus phone credits).

Short answer: the best Hunter.io alternatives are Prospeo if you want the same price per email plus a database and phones, Apollo.io for data, sequences and a dialer in one seat, Snov.io for finding and sending on one bill, and Lusha or Kaspr for phone numbers from LinkedIn. If you just need verified emails for lists you already have, Anymailfinder keeps your unused credits.

How we checked: we read Hunter's pricing page and help center, then each alternative's own pricing page and credit rules, and worked out cost per found email on the cheapest paid plan. Prices checked on each vendor's own pricing page on November 1, 2026. Some links are affiliate links: if you sign up, the vendor may pay us a commission at no cost to you. Why people look beyond Hunter

Hunter is good at what it does: give it a name and a company domain and it returns a verified address, with the public sources it found it on, for 1 credit, and nothing when it finds nothing. Verification costs half a credit and team members are unlimited. The reasons to switch come from Hunter's own pages:

  • No phone numbers. Hunter's plans list email finding and verification only.
  • No LinkedIn. Hunter's help center says it "cannot be integrated with LinkedIn" to comply with LinkedIn's Terms of Use.
  • Credits reset. Monthly credits do not roll over, so a quiet month is money lost.
  • Small free plan. 50 credits a month, half of Prospeo's 100.
  • Credit pricing climbs in steps. Starter is $49 for 2,000 credits; the next tier is Growth at $149 for 10,000, with nothing in between.

Reviewers summarised on Capterra, TrustRadius and in competitor write-ups add missing emails at smaller or newer companies and rising costs, but those are opinions, not vendor facts.

Prospeo: closest like-for-like

Prospeo charges only for valid results, like Hunter, and costs about the same: Starter is $49 per user a month for 2,000 credits. It adds what Hunter lacks: a people and company database with 28 to 41 filters, mobile numbers at 10 credits, and a Chrome extension that works on LinkedIn. The free plan is 100 credits a month, and re-enriching a lead within 90 days is free. Credits expire each cycle, as on Hunter.

Pick it if you want Hunter's pricing with phones and a database. Skip it if you rely on Hunter's Sequences; Prospeo does not send email.

Apollo.io: when you want a full sales seat

Apollo bundles a B2B database, an email finder that charges only for verified emails, phone numbers at 8 credits, sequences, a US dialer and CRM sync. Basic is $65 per seat a month or $49 billed yearly for 2,500 credits; Free has 75. Unlike Hunter, it charges per seat, so a five-person team pays five times.

Pick it if you want search, reveal, sequence and call in one tool. Skip it if you need a shared account for many light users; Hunter's unlimited seats are cheaper there.

Snov.io: cheapest at volume, with outreach

Snov.io is the nearest match to Hunter's all-in-one plans: finder, 7-tier verifier, warm-up, sequences and unlimited seats on paid plans. Starter costs more per credit ($39 for 1,000, 3.9 cents), but the price drops fast: Pro S is $99 for 5,000 and Pro L about 0.74 cents per credit, below any Hunter tier. Credits roll over with auto-renew on, and it works on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator.

Pick Snov.io if you send more than a few thousand emails a month and want LinkedIn too. Skip it if you only do occasional lookups; Hunter's Starter is cheaper per email.

Anymailfinder: credits that roll over

Anymailfinder spends a credit only on a verified email, returns up to 20 emails per company search for 1 credit, and rolls unused credits over with no cap while you stay subscribed. It accepts a LinkedIn URL as input. Plans start at $29 for 400 credits; $299 buys 25,000, about 1.2 cents each, the same as Hunter Scale monthly.

Pick it if your volume is uneven and you hate losing credits. Skip it if you need a database, phones or sequences.

Findymail: for deliverability

Findymail verifies every email live, including catch-all domains, and guarantees a bounce rate under 5% or refunds credits. It adds non-EU phone numbers at 10 credits and native pushes to Instantly, Smartlead and Lemlist. Credit plans start at $49 for 1,000 finder plus 1,000 verifier credits, though Findymail positions them for reselling; its usage-based team plans start at $99 a month.

Pick it if catch-all domains and bounces are your problem with Hunter. Skip it if you need EU phones or have light volume.

Dropcontact: for EU teams

Dropcontact generates and verifies emails with its own algorithms, says it uses no contact database and processes on EU servers, and charges only on success. Starter is 29 EUR a month for 500 credits or 79 EUR for 4,000. It does not have Hunter's Domain Search: you must supply names.

Pick it if GDPR sourcing is a concern for your team. Skip it if you need to find who works at a company.

Lusha: for phone numbers

Lusha is the opposite trade-off to Hunter: more expensive per email (about 12.5 cents on Starter) but with direct phone numbers at 5 credits and an extension on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator. Free is 40 credits a month and monthly plans roll credits over up to 2x.

Pick Lusha if you call prospects. Skip it if you mostly send email; keep Hunter for that.

Kaspr: for LinkedIn-first prospecting

Kaspr reveals business email, direct email and phone from LinkedIn profiles, Sales Navigator (Starter) and Recruiter Lite (Business). Paid plans include unlimited B2B emails under fair use, so you pay for phone credits: Starter is $49 per user a month billed yearly with 1,200 a year. It needs a business email and 20+ LinkedIn connections to sign up.

Pick it if your prospecting starts on LinkedIn and ends with a call. Skip it if you work from company domains; Hunter is better there.

How to choose

  • Keep Hunter if you look up named people by domain, want unlimited seats, and do not need phones.
  • Switch to Prospeo for the same price with a database and mobiles.
  • Switch to Apollo if one rep should search, sequence and call from one seat.
  • Switch to Snov.io above roughly 5,000 emails a month, or if you want LinkedIn outreach.
  • Switch to Anymailfinder if lost credits bother you more than features.
  • Add Lusha or Kaspr next to Hunter if you only need phones for a few prospects.

Test before you move a whole list: run the same 50 contacts through Hunter's free plan and one alternative, then compare how many verified emails each returns for your market.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Hunter.io alternative?

Prospeo is the closest: similar price per email (about 2.45 cents on Starter vs Hunter's 2.5 cents), no charge for misses, a larger free plan and mobile numbers. Choose Apollo if you want a database with sequences and a dialer, or Snov.io if you want finding and sending on one bill.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Hunter.io?

At entry level, Hunter is already among the cheapest per email. Prospeo Starter is slightly cheaper monthly (2.45 vs 2.5 cents). At high volume, Snov.io drops to about 0.74 cents per credit and Anymailfinder's 100,000-credit plan to 0.8 cents, both below Hunter Scale's 1.2 cents monthly.

Does Hunter.io find phone numbers?

Hunter's plans list email finding and verification only; no phone numbers appear on its pricing page. Alternatives that sell phone numbers include Lusha, Kaspr, Apollo, Prospeo, Findymail (non-EU) and RocketReach.

Does Hunter.io work on LinkedIn?

No. Hunter's help center says it cannot be integrated with LinkedIn because it needs to comply with LinkedIn's Terms of Use. Kaspr, Lusha, Snov.io, Apollo and Prospeo document extensions that work on LinkedIn profiles.

How does the Hunter email finder work?

You give it a full name and company domain and it returns the most likely address with a confidence score and the public sources where it appeared. It can also list known addresses for a domain. One credit per found email, half a credit per verification, and no credit when nothing is found.

Do Hunter.io credits roll over?

No, monthly credits reset each cycle. Snov.io (with auto-renew on), Anymailfinder (while subscribed), Lusha monthly plans (up to 2x), Findymail credit plans (up to 2x) and Kaspr paid plans carry unused credits forward.
