Short answer: for most people the best email finder Chrome extension is Snov.io (rated 4.9 from 6,000 reviews, 50 free credits a month) or Hunter (4.8 from 12,500 reviews, 700,000 users). For the lowest cost per email, Skrapp.io works out to about 2 cents on its cheapest plan. For phone numbers as well as emails, Apollo is the cheapest per number at about 21 cents. Two well-known extensions, Prospeo and FullEnrich, cannot be installed from the Chrome Web Store right now. Updated November 2, 2026.
How we checked: ratings, user counts and last-update dates come from each extension's Chrome Web Store listing; plans, credits and what a failed lookup costs come from each vendor's own pricing and help pages, all read November 2, 2026. Cost per email and per phone is our arithmetic on the cheapest monthly plan. We did not run the same list of contacts through every tool, so this guide does not rank data accuracy. For full B2B data platforms rather than extensions, see our ZoomInfo, Apollo and Lusha alternatives.

Two extensions you cannot install right now
Prospeo still advertises its Chrome extension on its own site, but the Chrome Web Store listing shows no install option as of November 2, 2026. Prospeo's web app is unaffected: 100 free credits a month, $49 for 2,000, and no charge when no email is found. FullEnrich's extension listing is also unpublished, and its pricing page no longer mentions one; it now works through its web app, API and integrations. If a comparison page recommends either extension, it was written before this changed.
Do you pay for a lookup that finds nothing?
- No: Hunter, Snov.io, Prospeo, Apollo (for email), RocketReach (the lookup is refunded), Findymail, GetProspect and Wiza all state that a miss is free. Skrapp charges only for results it marks valid or catch-all.
- Depends on your settings: Kaspr's help center says a credit is spent on any lookup unless you set data criteria first.
- Their own pages disagree: Lusha's blog says an empty lookup is free while its API documentation says at least one credit is used; ContactOut has the same contradiction. Test with a small batch before a big export.
Which one to choose
- Best rated, with a usable free plan: Snov.io. It finds emails on websites and professional networks, verifies them, and adds outreach if you want it later.
- Finding emails from a company website: Hunter, whose Domain Search lists the addresses it knows for a domain with a confidence score and sources.
- Lowest cost per email from LinkedIn and Sales Navigator lists: Skrapp.io, with bulk export at about 2 cents an email.
- Emails and mobile numbers at a low price: Apollo at about 21 cents a phone number, or Findymail at about 20 cents with EU hosting.
- Working inside Gmail and Google Calendar: Lusha, whose extension also runs on company websites; it is one of the pricier options per contact.
- Many lookups a day for free: ContactOut, whose free plan resets daily: 5 emails and 5 phone numbers.
A note on LinkedIn: several vendors publish their own guidance on using their extension without tripping LinkedIn's limits (Skrapp, Kaspr and Snov.io all have help articles on it). GetProspect states that its extension matches profiles against its own database rather than reading emails from LinkedIn pages.
