overview
What is Mesa?
Mesa is a programmable storage layer and virtual filesystem tool developed for AI agents and developers building agentic products. It enables versioning with simple checkpointing or complex branch-based workflows, offering connectivity for agents to needed files and tracking all changes via a single API solution. The framework is Python-based and provides tools for building and analyzing complex systems by simulating interacting agents and their environments. Users program agent behaviors and environmental rules from scratch within the framework, supporting the creation of customized simulations, including those representing intricate economic or social dynamics. Mesa requires coding skills to develop and execute models.
