studio

Open-source tools that let your AI build and run a multiplayer game studio on its own Cloudflare: an MCP server, multiplayer starters, Workers and Durable Objects.

Install studio in your MCP client

studio is a Model Context Protocol server. Add it to your MCP client config once, restart, and the server's tools become available to your AI assistant. The same JSON snippet below works across all four major clients — only the config file path differs.

  1. Locate your client's MCP config file.
    • Cursor: ~/.cursor/mcp.json
    • Claude Desktop (macOS): ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
    • Claude Desktop (Windows): %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
    • VS Code: Settings → Extensions → MCP
    • Windsurf: Settings → MCP Servers
  2. Add studio to the mcpServers map — paste the snippet below into your config file. If you already have other MCP servers, merge the entry into the existing mcpServers object.
  3. Restart your client so it picks up the new server.
  4. Verify — ask the assistant to list available tools; studio's tools should appear.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "studio": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "@homie-rocks/studio"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Install studio in Cursor

Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json in your editor, paste the snippet above into mcpServers, save, and restart Cursor. studio will show up in the assistant's tool list on next launch.

Install studio in Claude Desktop (macOS)

Open ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json in your editor, paste the snippet above into mcpServers, save, and restart Claude Desktop (macOS). studio will show up in the assistant's tool list on next launch.

Install studio in Claude Desktop (Windows)

Open %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json in your editor, paste the snippet above into mcpServers, save, and restart Claude Desktop (Windows). studio will show up in the assistant's tool list on next launch.

Install studio in VS Code

Open Settings → Extensions → MCP in your editor, paste the snippet above into mcpServers, save, and restart VS Code. studio will show up in the assistant's tool list on next launch.

npm package: @homie-rocks/studio

Transport

studio supports the following MCP transports. Most AI clients use stdio by default for locally-installed servers.

From the studio README

# @homie-rocks/studio A studio for games, apps, music and video on its own Cloudflare. One repository (`AGENTS.md`, `games/`, `apps/`, `music/`, `videos/`, `posts/`, `site/`), multiplayer games on the Homie netplay contract (every browser renders, strangers meet in public rooms, bots fill seats, rounds restart), and a site Worker with Table/Lobby Durable Objects and D1 that the studio deploys to its own Cloudflare account with Wrangler. The homie.rocks directory lists the games. Apps are one morphing screen, its roles and its parts: a customer phone, a staff tablet and a wall can share a 3D scene without rounds or scores. `homie-studio app new welcome` creates a working welcome queue in `apps/welcome/`; install its declared dependencies, build, then use `dev --lan` and the printed Wi-Fi…
