Dead Man Walking· 14/100

An LLM can do most of what this tool's UI promises. No moat, no agent presence.

Devin is a UI wrapper around code generation and debugging — capabilities Claude and other LLMs already do in a chat window. The 'autonomous agent' framing masks that it's still just token completion on code. Integrations with Sentry and Datadog are nice but don't create defensibility; they're just API calls an LLM can learn to make. In 12 months, developers will route this work directly to Claude or open-source models via IDE plugins.

Defensibility · 0/100

  • Physical-world coupling
  • Regulatory moat
  • Network liquidity
  • Proprietary refreshing data
  • High-trust catastrophic workflows
  • Multi-party coordination
  • Brand / community / taste

An LLM alone could replace

  • Write boilerplate code and scaffold new features
  • Debug errors by reading stack traces and suggesting fixes
  • Refactor existing code for readability or performance
  • Generate test cases and unit test implementations

Agent-Readiness · 30/100

  • Verified MCP
  • Listed on agent surfaces
  • Usage-based pricingpricing page heuristic match: https://devin.ai/pricing
  • Headless agent authhttps://docs.devin.ai/api-reference/overview (api-key auth)
  • Public OpenAPI
  • Active changelog
  • llms.txt

How to defend

Devin survives only by becoming the agent runtime itself — the infrastructure that coordinates multiple models, manages long-running tasks, handles deployment gates, and owns the liability when code ships to production. Stop competing on code quality; become the orchestration layer teams can't replace without rebuilding their CI/CD.

  • Ship an MCP server and list it on Stork — biggest single point gain (+25).
  • Get listed in the Anthropic MCP registry, Cursor, or Claude Desktop (+20).
  • Publish an OpenAPI spec at /openapi.json or /.well-known/openapi (+10).
  • Publish a public changelog and ship in the last 90 days — silence reads as abandonment (+10).
  • Ship an /llms.txt file pointing agents to your most important docs (+5, easy win).

For builders

This page is doing a job for someone else’s tool.

AI agents read it. Buyers find it. Backlinks accrue. Your tool can have one too — live in 24 hours, indexed by Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, queryable via MCP.
